The terms of the Maison.

Maison Mizumi is a trade name of Rayndrops, a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands.

By using this site you confirm that you are of legal age in the country where you live, and that any information you give us — email, billing address, delivery address, payment details — is accurate and complete. You are responsible for the security of your account and for everything done through it. An account may not be transferred, sold or lent to anyone else.

We photograph every vessel and essence as faithfully as we can, but colour and finish may read differently on your screen depending on your device and its settings. Descriptions may be revised at any time, and we may discontinue an object or limit the quantity available per person or per region.

An order is an offer to buy. It becomes a contract once we send you an order confirmation by email, after your payment has been received and processed. We may decline an order where an item is unavailable or where a price or description was published in error, and will let you know by email or telephone.

Please check your order before sending it; once accepted, a cancellation request cannot always be processed. Purchases are for your own personal or household use, not for commercial resale or export.

Prices are shown in euro and include VAT where applicable. Shipping costs are shown before you confirm the order and are set out on the Shipping page. Orders outside the European Union may attract import duties payable by the recipient. Prices, discounts and promotions may change without notice; the price that applies is the one shown at the moment you place the order and repeated in your confirmation email. Where a promotion has its own conditions, those conditions prevail over these terms.

Payment is taken at the moment of ordering, through our payment provider. Maison Mizumi does not receive or store your card details.

Delivery indications are given in good faith and are not guaranteed dates. Risk passes to you on delivery. Where an order is not delivered within thirty days, you may cancel it and receive a full refund.

You have a statutory right of withdrawal of fourteen days from the day you receive the order, and a further fourteen days to send the items back. Sealed essences that have been opened are excluded for reasons of hygiene. Full conditions are on the Returns page.

Every vessel is covered by the statutory conformity period of two years under European and Dutch consumer law: an object must be what you could reasonably expect it to be. If a defect appears, write to us and we repair, replace or refund.

Vessels are intended for indoor use with Maison Mizumi essences. Keep essences out of reach of children and away from open flame. Damage caused by other oils, by misuse or by dropping is not a conformity defect.

The name Maison Mizumi, the World names, the photography and the editorial texts on this site belong to Maison Mizumi and may not be reproduced without written permission.

Dutch law applies. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory law of their country of residence and may use the European ODR platform for disputes.

Parts of this site rely on services provided by others, and some pages link to sites we do not control. Those tools and sites are offered as they are, without warranty from us, and we are not responsible for their content, their products or their practices. Read their own terms before you use them.

This store runs on Shopify, which allows us to provide the shop and checkout. Every sale, however, is made directly with Maison Mizumi. Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of a sale between you and us, including injury, damage or loss arising from the objects purchased, and you release Shopify and its affiliates from claims relating to your purchases from Maison Mizumi.

If you send us ideas, suggestions, reviews or other content, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, adapt and publish it, including commercially. You confirm the content is yours to give and does not infringe anyone's rights, and that it is not unlawful, defamatory or obscene. We are not obliged to keep feedback confidential, to pay for it or to reply, and we may remove it.

Occasionally a description, price, promotion, delivery time or availability on this site may be inaccurate or incomplete. We may correct such errors and update or cancel affected orders at any time, without prior notice, including after an order has been submitted.

This site may be used for lawful purposes only. You may not use it to break the law, to infringe our rights or those of others, to harass or mislead anyone, to send unsolicited advertising, to impersonate another person, to upload malicious code, to collect other people's data, to copy or resell any part of the site, or to interfere with its security measures. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

Software agents may only access this site if they identify themselves in every request — including "Agent/[name]" in the user-agent string — never imitate human behaviour, never solve or bypass CAPTCHAs or similar measures, answer truthfully when asked whether they are human, and respect any restriction we place on automated access. We may limit or block automated access by technical means.

We may end your access to this site at any time, at our discretion. Amounts owed up to that date remain payable. The sections on intellectual property, feedback, warranties, liability, indemnity and applicable law survive termination.

Apart from the statutory conformity rights described above, the site and its content are provided as they are and as available. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or free of error, and information on it is given for general purposes only.

To the extent permitted by law, Maison Mizumi and its partners, suppliers and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss — including lost profit, lost revenue or lost data — arising from your use of the site or of the objects bought through it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Dutch or European consumer law.

You agree to indemnify Maison Mizumi and Shopify, and our partners, staff and service providers, against third-party claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your breach of the law or of another party's rights, or your use of the site.

If any provision of these terms is found unlawful or unenforceable, it is severed and the remaining provisions stay in force. Not enforcing a right does not waive it. These terms, together with the policies referred to in them, form the whole agreement between you and us and replace any earlier version. You may not transfer your rights under them without our written consent; we may transfer ours.

The current version is always the one published on this page. We may update these terms by posting a revised version here, and will give notice of material changes where the law requires it. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.
